getting a case fan...

ok... i am confused about the sizes of these case fans... i know there are few sizes out there and the back of my case's fan "slot" is like 4" x 4"....so which size should i get? 80mm or 120mm or..?...... :confused:
 
Well, lets see... 2.54 cm per inch... 4 inches... 10.16 cm? So assuming your measurements are correct you'll need a 10 cm (100 mm) fan. However, I've never seen a 100 mm fan. I've seen 92 and 120mm but no 100.

You can always just use the top/side screws only :) (if it rattles you can tie that down) .... sounds like a 92mm slot :)
 
omg...i can't believe this.. i guess i did not know how to use a ruler. :eek: .. i did not measure it from 0... instead i measured from 1 to 4, so i thought it was 4" x 4".... now it should have been 3" x 3" ..so a 80mm fan is right ???

2. Almost. You'll be needing a 70mm fan (are you measuring the size of the opening or the diameter of the screw spots?)
