Getting a custom

CmoAMD

New Member
Hey all, im getting a custom computer built for me.. and I needed to know something.

I really really would like to have SLI dual 7800's, thing is I cant really afford them... is it alot more powerful than dual 6800's?

Also, I really really would like to have the AMD X2 4800 CPU, but I heard its not much more different than the AMD X2 4400, and for half as much....

My computer is going to be used for burning, downloading, music, dvds, browsing, image editing(PS), gaming(CS, WoW) and Microsoft programs(Word, Excel, etc.) So I heard the AMD X2's own all around computer needs. Even better then the FX 57. 57 only better, by very little, at gaming.

Let me know what you guys think... thanks.

Ok then... should I get something less than the 6800's? On CS, CS:S I think I need them, so I register 1000%. hehe

Ill concur on the lack of need for dual 7800s or 6800s ... you can get a single 7800 class card and that'll be enough to handle damn near everything you need. As for "what you should get" ... what's your budget?

But that AquaBay requires some more things for it to work...

A.Thermaltake AquaBAy M1
B.Thermaltake CPU Waterblock(CL-W0038)
C.Liquid Pump
D.Liquid Tank
E.ID=9.5mm Tube
F.Thermaltake 12cm Radiator
G.ID=9.5mm Quick Install Connector

Can someone somehow find a quote on that...?

Guys do you think its worth it for my to build it myself...?
I have no experience at all in building PC's. My friend is going to help though... he can build them, not a pro though. I would consider building it myself to save a little extra money and for the knowledge of computer insides and how to build. The thing is that im selecting somewhat top end merchandise.... would I screw it up?

You can see the specs in that link there. I also want to build myself so I can take pictures of the progress and each step and stuff. Is it worth the time?

- A single 7800 class card with outperform the dual 6800GTs
- Id consider the Pioneer 110 or NEC 3540 burners as current Liteys are still behind a bit on the speed/quality side

Yeah it's definitely worth building your own PC IMO :)

Can you give me the exact model numbers or links the to NEC burners... I need a DVD Burner Double Layer/ROM(black) and then a CDRW/DVDROM Combo(black) Please... of fastest speeds :D.
