Getting a free recording software, where from?

Can I use my laptop to record myself snoring? So recording all night. Also, how do you change the settings so computer doesn't switch itself off (mine goes onto switch off mode where the on off button just flashes on and off!) Is there a site to download this software?

Battery settings... Then change "sleep" to never.

Something like movie maker should be able to record the webcam as long as you don't run out of space

You could get a mic and use Xcorder. http://www.2-software.net/download/188

You could even get a bluetooth mic and a bluetooth USB adapter.

Xcorder uses a VOX function so that it will only recored when there is sound. Even has logging to show when the audio was recorded.

I used Xcorder on a very old laptop back in the day for my police scanner.
