Getting cable mess under control...

So my new computer is built and shes a beast, except for the Geforce 6700GS Graphics card I bought on clearance at staples, but thats only a temporary fix till I get my new one next month...

Anyway!

My concern is the mess of cables left over from my PSU. Kinda defeast the purpose of a clear sided case with LCDS when all you see is a million ugly cables sprawled everywhere. So my question is how do I safely get those cables tucked away so I dont have a holy mess to look at at? Any creative ideas or cool tricks would be much appreciated!

People normally use zip-ties to tie all the cables into a bunch and tuck it under the DVD Drive (I'm talking about the extra cables that are not connected). Some people tuck it under (or around depending on your orientation) the drive cage. Does the cables from your PSU sleeved?

Here is a method that i implement with new computer builds for my customers with clear case sides, which is about 95% of them. Take the wires and bundle the extra behind the power supply and on the side of the optical drive bays between the side of the case that doesn't have the window. Then run the wires you do have going to components stealthily under and behind components so that you see the bare minimum wires. It is not easy to do but with some time and patience the outcome will be rewarding. I see it as an art to do it.

Another thing you can do for those wires that you just cant hide that are not sheilded is to go to your local auto parts store and get hose sheilding, you know the stuff that looks like braided line hosing, and cover the wires with. Get them in the color of the case or your LEDs in the case.

What can i say i professionally build custom computers. :D

(Show off! :P) j/k, lol

What you described sounds like it would look great but my PSU has so many freaking wires everywhere that Im not sure I could do it like that or not. I may try to tuck some of them away in an unused cd-bay and hopefully that will take care of some of them. Im glad I took the time to build my own PC, I learned a lot and learned what I would want to do with my next build should I choose to do one. Thanks again for the tips!

I tend to stick mine, sometimes zip-tie them to the extra bays on my computers. There are also cable wraps and such that give a neat look to your computer. I've heard of some that glow in UV light...

my wiring job is messy but it looks very clean. :) the second last pic is kinda old.. b4 i loomed all of the wires
