Okay, As if I did not already have issues with failing, I am having a very peculiar issue with my M90.
Okay, I am trying to play a video game. Somple DX8 game I know I can max easily at 1200p. But I can't get the computer to recognize the freaking CD drive, to see the disk to play the game. The drive ejects, so it is getting power. I looked in Device manager and all it sees under disk drives is the Hatachi hard drive.

Have tried reinserting it and restarting the computer and it did not help. If there anything I can do other than replace the drive? If i have to replace it, I'm just gunna get a new laptop and throw this one away. Its getting old having to fix it all the time.

So it doesn't show up in "my computer"? Are there any entries with yellow question marks in device manager?

the dial up modem has teh yellow question mark, but I don't use it so i don't install teh driver. I updated the chipset driver to see if that would help, and it did not.

In mycomputer all I see listed are Shared Documents, admin's Documents Local Disk (C: ), King 16-B1 (E: ), and wolfe's iPhone. no CD drive.

If it detected the drive it would show up in device manager, but would show up with yellow question/exclamation points if there was an issue with it. Does the bios detect it? Can you put in a bootable cd and see if it boots to it?

i don't have a bootable disk here to test it. but the BIOS still has the dvd drive as a boot option. it generally goes away when i got the hard drive in there, so i assume it is seeing it.

It will be a week before I can get a bootable CD. I don't have the internet bandwidth here to download something and make the CD, plus a lack of CDs. Ill see what I can do about getting one. I might be able to rip an iso from my emergency boot flashkey.

not where i am at. My nearest windows CD is 90 mines south.

I'm still looking for something. I call call star city and see if they have a boot CD of some sort.

Okay, I got a gparted CD and it would not boot. Also getting nothing from my secondary hard drive. I'm starting to think it is the port on the motherboard. :(
