getting more memory

Hi , my motherboard supports up to 16gb memory, I currently have 4gb in 2gb sticks, I was about to order another 4gb, but I'm not sure whether to get it in 2gb sticks or 1 4gb stick, which is £10 cheaper, and obviously when I plan to upgrade to 16 then any 2gb stick will have to go, I understand that I'm currently using dual channel and this won't be possible for the 4gb stick if I install it, but obviously I'm tempted as it's cheaper and I'm hoping it will make future upgrades easier, is there any reason I should/shouldn't go for the 1x4gb stick? other than not getting dual channel?

Nope I don't see any other reason.

You can always get a second stick of 4GB to make it dual channel, it's not very expansive (about 30€).

Not bad, I'm sure it's gone up here, I've made the choice and in the end I bottled out and opted for the 2x2gb, here's the one I've ordered http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002D11C6U/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I was thinking it will be some time before I upgrade past 8gb memory as 4gb seems to have served my needs okay so far, and if I do decide to upgrade further, I will just find a deal on 16gb and sell my current memory, or perhaps save it to build a new one, I was considering building one for my step daughter anyway. Just one question though, how long do you think my memory will now last, obviously the Graphics card was more important anyway, but it's too expensive, besides I was thinking because the next gen games are coming out, now would be a bad time to fork out on a graphics card that probably won't play the games that will be coming out.
