Getting new graphics and RAM .. need assistance!

I have:

Should I upgrade it at all? I'm a newbie when it comes to PCs and not sure if this really matters, or if It's good enough for now.

Anyway, I have 4gb of RAM, and I've been getting TONS of BSOD's stating something with "memory" so I thought it would have to do with my RAM, so I'm going to get 6gb or 4gb of RAM more, but not sure what I have to look for that is compatible with my MOBO?

Also, my graphics card (AMD) CONSTANTLY, yes, CONSTANTLY, stops responding and then responds again while I'm playing a game. It gets really annoying when I'm about to die and it freezes and then restores.

What type of features should I look for in a video card and RAM that is compatible with this MOBO?

Couple of questions.

Did you build this system? Has this system had these issues from the start or did they develop later? Have you tried wiping it clean and reinstalling OS? Have you installed chipset drivers from Gigabyte and video drivers from ATI or are you using the drivers that windows installed?

Adding more RAM won't help, and 4 GBs enough anyway. I'd start by downloading and running Memtest86 to see if your RAM checks OK. If you can burn an ISO image to disk here's) the bootable version, or you can use the Windows version from here.

and try the latest ver of vga driver
and i suggest win 7
 
Well, I installed the drivers that came with the video card (the disc) and I was thinking of getting new RAM, because I thought my RAM was somewhat damaged in a way, because of the constant BSOD's I get. Everytime I boot up my PC, I get a BSOD with a different error, so I gotta shut it off by holding the power button, then turn it on again to make it work.

And yes, I built it myself.

- Yes, I've reformatted multiple times, I'm running Win7 x64.
- It developed a little later on.
 
Have you tried one stick of memory at a time. To see if you have a bad stick. Have you checked to see if they are running at default speed/timing and voltage.
 
Later today I'm going to run the MemTest on one stick at a time, and yes their running on default, I didn't touch anything.
 
I ran it during school, stopped it at Test #7, and it found 261 errors lol. Do you think my warranty is still covered, and I can get a free set of RAM?
 
most ram has a lifetime warranty, also recommend updating those vga drivers, the disk often is not the most current driver avaliable for the hardware you have
 
Thank you, downloading now. But for the memory problem, it's the RAM, right? I got 256 or so errors, so .. should I call them up (OCZ) and ask for a replacement? And what should I state, "I did a MemTest and it showed up 256 errors. Also, I constantly get BSOD's regarding Memory errors?"
 
This information reinforces what I have read about OCZ DDR3 RAM on these forums. Yes Dervie, call up OCZ and ask for a return merchandise authorization. Also tell them you got about 256 errors while running Memtest86 and that you get constant Blue Screens of Death from their memory.

Hopefully you get a good set of memory modules next time from them.
 
In my opinion I would say that it is bad RAM. Highly doubtful it is anything else. If you do get more RAM and have issues you may want to try a different brand of DDR3 memory like Super Talent, Corsair, G.Skill or Mushkin.
 
I might get the replacement (if they allow it), resell it, buy Corsair, ahah. Thanks for that. And my ATI not responding problem ..

How do I find these? What else are they referred as? They're asking for it.
 
will be written on the side of the ram stick, timings are listed as such:

4-4-4 12 (CL-4)
5-5-5 15 (CL-5) and so on

voltage will be written as 1.5 or 1.65 or something, it will be on the sticker on the stick of ram
