Getting own domain for a professional email address?

Wanted my own domain so my email looks more professional. Paid £10 off google/g mail for the domain. Ticked just one year then wanted to put my name @ the domain, but couldn't do it for free. Do you have to pay the £4 a month for it? Did it 6 yrs ago for free. Just paid £10 for the domain.

How can I check if they've taken any more money than £10 from my account? Didn't use the debit card I usually check.

It is definitely a paid service, as beers said, i think once upon a time it used to be free, but definitely not free anymore.

Indeed, looks like they stopped offering that at the end of 2012

As of December 6, 2012, Google stopped offering the free edition to new customers.

There's plenty of other options @textbook although if you strongly prefer the Google platform, G Suite is like 3.3 quid per month for a single user.

I bought my E-mail service from Namecheap and bought the domain from Namesilo. But you can get the domain and E-mail service at Namecheap.
