Getting the most out my P180..

Edit: Title should read "getting the most" not the post.. lol!

Okay,

I acquired a P180 and heard it was all the rage. And I can see why. First time I opened it up I was notably impressed. But now, some things have turned for the worst:

1. I once took out back fan to see what temperatures would be like. I am not entirely sure if I put it in the right way again. Is there a particular direction it should be put in (anyone who hasn't taken all 3, or at least the back fan out, take a look please!

2. My Type-R 580 is great but not the best. I was forced to remove the much needed HDD fan so I think I need to put it back in. I like the actual cage for the drives and I have 3 of them now. Any recommended PSUs I can take a look at?

3. My P180 door is now weak. The magnet appears to be on its last strings and the hinges aren't exactly top notch, and I don't even use it much. Any recommendations?

4. My P180 door. For all users, at the bottom of the drawer there are 3 clips that then put the side into the actual structure. 2 of them have broken. Should I just leave these be and not open it whenever I need to?

5. Lastly, cable management. I've tried over five times but I just can't get it right. Would I be as well taking everything out, giving it a full dust-down and putting it all back in again. I'm prepared to put in the work. Would I just need to buy a can of compressed air and fire away? Is it safe to use on a motherboard?

I appreciate your help and any tips are greatly appreciated. Here's what I use:

______________________________________________________

1 Molex for DVD Drive (x2 as I have to 2 physical drives)
1 IDE for DVD Drive (x2 as I have 2 physical drives)

Note that I use my official Asus ones which look quite neat and tidy. It splits it from one to two so there is only 1 IDE cable.
______________________________________________________

3 x Fans (1 Middle, 1 Top, 1 Back) require 3 molex connections.

Any tips on how I can break these down? I want as little cables showing as possible.

______________________________________________________

6-Pin PCIE Cable, 4 Pin Power Cable (way up at the top, awful place - requires molex adaptor) and the mian 24 Pin board. Not to mention frontal USB and Firewire which I need.

______________________________________________________

Any tips and thoughts? What settings should my fans be on? My current temperatures are around 30C for the drives, which is fine. But AUX (unknown) is usually 60, Graphics around 53, Processor at 47! (C2D Stock, should I change? Is it worth it?).

Thanks
Kyle.

the fans can go in either way round, i've moved mine around a bit and depending on which way round they are will just effect the airflow direction, doesnt effect the fitting of it. Currently the rear and top fan i have are exhausts. Added a front fan thats an intake, useful having the intakes there as you have the filters infront of them.

Currently im using an Antec Truepower 2 in my case, its a perfect fit for the obvious reasons, all the cables are long enough and it allows me to have the fan in the psu bay still too.

Any problems with your door, drop an email to antec themselves. On the original design of this case the door had a tendancy to warp. They will ship out a replacement door no problem. I dont think they even require proof of purchase either. My fan in the psu bay died on me so i emailed them without proof of purchase and they sent a replacement out straight away.

As for cable management, it might be worth taking it out and starting again. Try to organise the cables as you go along rather than doing it all at the end. The case has some good places to navigate around. Some can wire behind the mainboard itself. Theres also enough room behind the drive bays to bring some of the power cables along too. With a bit of work you can have it looking pretty damn tidy.

I would recommend using the normal ribbon data cables for any drives in the lower cage as opposed to using the rounded cables. Mainly because the rounded data cables are really awkward in that space but the flat cables are easy. Thats of course depends on if your using IDE or sata though :)

As for the fan speeds, i currently have all of mine on high, mainly because the case has decent sound dampening and so you dont hear too much from it with them up at the top.

Thanks jimmy! I might take a look into that PSU and will certainly try and tidy my P180's problems up!

Cheers for the efficient reply.

I've already given up trying to organize my cables in my P180B. Instead of trying to hide them, I just bundled them all together with twisty ties. Oh well, it's not like you can see them :)

As for the direction of the fan, the back one is defaulted exaughst, which makes sense.

how can you tell, if I want to install new fan, which direction the wind will blow? I mean is there some kind of arrow to indicate the direction the fan is blowing??

Thanks for changing my title!

No there is no arrow or anything on my fans. As for the back fan, if I put my hand right at it, I can feel cool air.

I was actually looking at the 620W because I think the 520W might be a bit low nowadays.

If you look at the fan, the side that has the 3 little support bars going diagonally across the fan is the way the wind blows.
