getting video to computer. firewire

thats my camcorder, and i want to get it to my computer. all i have tried is the usb cable that came with it. however i believe its only for pictures. so im wondering if a firewire like this one will do the job:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812191068

your camcorder does not support firewire.
also you should be able to transfer pictures by the usb cable.

how does it not support firewire?
