I am going to start my 3rd birthday build for another friend and I'm looking to do something special for him. We've talked about having the names of everyone who donates engraved on the side of the case or something like that. Any other thoughts or suggestions? I'm pretty sure I've got the build down other than the PSU I always use is no longer being sold so I have to find a new SLI PSU to use. Maybe a painted case? Anyone know any place that does that (as in you've SEEN thier work or have a friend who's used them)? :confused: :D

Rough Idea of build:

ATX Full tower or Mid not sure yet
E6600
8800 GTS
320GB HD
2GB DDR2 800
680I SLI Mobo
Maybe sound card not sure on that either
DVD Burner
DVD Rom
SLI certified PSU (suggestions?)
 
www.falcon-nw.com has some really sweet cases, maybe they would do custom work... not sure about your price range. Also, and maybe a little cheaper, if you just want airbrushing, you could check an auto body shop. they usually have experienced airbrushers who would probably have no problem working on a bit of a smaller canvas, like one side of your case.
 
I can only reccomend the Corsair HX PSU's :) there are 2 version's.. the HX520W and the HX620W (i have the last one, 50A on the +12V rail, and under full load (my pc that is) only 2mV ripple on the voltage measured with my scope =] )
 
just a suggestion but you're going pretty high end there so I'd definetly include a sound card for better performance and sound quality you don't have to go top of the line with but almost anything is better than onboard
 
Yeah you can buy a pretty decent sound card for like $50 even that would just make the audio better than the standard on-board.

Yeah I will probably go X-FI Gamer or something like that.

I'm thinking of trying to have the case done up in something like Green Lantern Motif. I think that would be cool. Any other thoughts? Maybe suggest a good case to use for this? Not sure but was thinking maybe a black one?
