Hi,

I am building a new computer for an xmas present for a relative and its gone a bit tits up.

I've purchased a

Gigabyte 695p ds3 motherboard,
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 CPU
Corsair 1GB DDR2 PC5300 RAM
GeForce 7300LE PCI Express graphics card

I've put it all together, hooked everything up and all i get when i turn it on is the sound of the computer whirring away.

The monitor doesn't turn on and not much else happens.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I've been pulling my hair out for over a week!

Thanks in advance for any informative replies.

all the power connectors are correct yes.

The monitor was working fine with another computer the other day. So i presume that the monitor is working okay.

If it stays on I don't think it's the RAM needing more voltage. That was usually characterized by a repeating power on/off loop on those boards.
You might have to take everything to a shop so you can switch out stuff to find which part is causing the problem.
