Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P usable CPU question

It is AM3+ and the box says it can accomodate an x6 CPU, but I just saw an x8 AM3+ CPU on sale at Tiger Direct.

Can this mobo handle it, seeing as it is AM3+? Or is it out of its league?

No, it won't. The 8120 is not on the cpu support list.

I would steer away from the bulldozer series right now, at least. Does poorly in single-threaded and some multi-threaded apps. If this is purely for gaming, then get a 955/965 or a 960t. If you need the extra cores for photo/video editing, then by all means, get it. But games will not see a difference in performance.
