hi all i got a old pc, gigabyte 8I845GVM-RZ with an intel celeron 2.8GHz hooked on it 256mb ram.the problem started when i accidentaly removed the external hard disk in the front usb of the case, after that the pc shut down, then i tried to power it on and no luck.

Then i used another power supply 350w (borrowed) to test and the pc works fine.so i went to buy a new power supply the previous one was a 450w so i went and bought a 500w one, then upon returning home, attached the power supply and power it on,thats where the problem start,i dont get any display on the monitor, but the pc works fine for about 2mins then i heard a noise on the mobo and the led on the mobo starts to flash and also the led on the dvd writer flashes but still i got no display.

Then i decided to borrow a power supply 350w to test it again, but this time i only reached the bios on the monitor, but i got an error checksum error and told me to load the default setting, but still i cant use the keyboard cause the keyboard is not enable, even if its connected.

I dont know what wrong, tried to clear the cmos, but still no luck, when i have the 500w no display and noise but when i have the 350w i get display and the bios stucks wit a beeping noise following,i also changed rams...

any other ideas...

could you post the model and brand of the two power supplies?

Also, if your keyboard is USB then you should try a older PS/2 keyboard. USB keyboards often aren't detected when using default or fail-safe BIOS settings as it seems your BIOS has reverted to.
