hi there i have the Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 AMD 770 + SB600 Chipset am2+ motherboard gigabyte had on there website a while ago saying it was am3 ready and now they took it of the site confusing and misleading! anyway im looking on puting a amd ii x2 cpu in or amd Phenom ii x2 but think it says my motherboard has rev.1 and not rev.2. i have been looking on forums and found outher people with this board had the same confusion and some have installed the amd ii x2s Phenom ii x2 with no problem but had to update the bios can anybody help?

Depends, the Rev 1.0 supports the Phenom I, but not the Phenom I thats 125W. The Rev 2.0 does, plus supports the Phenom II and AM3 processors.

Well it does support the 9750. If you can find one, a 8750BE would be the best. A 9750 didnt overclock well at all. Sould just save some more up and get a better AM2+ board that supports AM3 processors and you could still use your same memory.

What processor are you looking at? I would go with a Phenom II Dual-Core Processor if you're really limited in your budget.
