Ok so i've bought my case and mobo, i could do with some help deciding on a gpu and processor if anyone can help!
It will primarily be used for casual gaming as my laptop atm isn't designed for games.

Processor:
I assume the core 2 quad is the 'best' from the supported list.
Would this be the most popular? I was thinking core 2 duo rather than say the p4 chips? Or can i just guess by the prices?
FSB supported speeds are up to 1333, i've read this is a big bottleneck for computers so i'd try and get at least the 1066 version of the processor.
limit around £50

Graphics Card:
1 x PCI Express x16 slot.
Is there first of all a limit as to what i can buy? I've read gpu's can need a seperate power cable or special psu, but i assume these are for high-end cards. Ive also seen some cards advertised as PCIe 2.0 x16, does this mean it won't be compatible with the mobo or it just won't utilise it properly? (i assume my PCIe slot is 1.0?).
Secondly, what should i buy within the range. Ive seen cards with differing gddr ram, gddr2 being a no-go due to heating (apparantly). Is it better to have any sort than no gddr at all?
Clock speed. Higher the better? >600mhz?
Also, why are (some) 512mb cards the same price as 1gb? will one have gddr/higher clock speed but a lower amount of dedicated memory?
limit around £50 also.

Thank's in advance!

So not a core 2 duo?

Does the Sapphire HD 4670 512MB GDDR3 go ok with the PCIe standard slot?

Thanks for the reply.

ok. well i went with the e6500 and Saphire 4670.

Also, will any SATA harddrive do, as opposed to SATAII or IDE?

Thanks for your help
