hi,
I would like to know the difference between the gigabyte radeon Rx 480 8gb compared to the stock radeon Rx 480 8gb

Can you link to the specific card? The reference ones are all the same with the same cooler. Most other ones change either just the cooler or a couple other components, but the baseline performance is always extremely similar.

The "stock" 480 is the PCB and cooler design shared by all reference cards, regardless of manufacturer, and designed by AMD. Most manufacturers will have their own custom designed cards where the GPU chip is the same but other aspects can vary, such as slight clock speed changes, different PCB layout, VRM design, and cooler design. As a result some cards will overclock better, run quieter or cooler, or have slightly different factory overclocks. Then of course you have to consider the brand itself in case you need to mess with their warranty or customer service.

That's just a reference card so the only difference is indeed the name on the box and card. Otherwise it should be identical. I'd probably opt for a non reference card though as they usually have better coolers.
