y cat stepped on my keyboard and now my screen is flipped on its side i have windows xp as my operating system but to clarify the problem normally the blue bar with the start is at the bottom of the screen but mine is on the right it's like the entire screen is laying on it's side please tell me how to fix

Grab the blue bar and drag it to the bottom....I have vista and my wife did that.. It worked to fix mine....I don't know about XP.

Try right-clicking the desktop, and see if there's an option called "rotation", or if any submenus there have that option? What graphics card do you have? Rotation is a feature of graphics drivers (I think), there option should be in "NVIDIA control panel" if you have a NVIDIA card and there's something similar for ATI but not sure what it's called. If you have a NVIDIA card, you can also try clicking the logo in the taskbar (if you have one), going to "Rotation Settings" and check "0 degrees".

Hi, in XP, you can flip the screen just by pressing, Ctrl + Alt + Right/Left key
Your cat seems to have stepped on the right buttons at the wrong time :P

I doesn't work for me either. I had tried it before, but I think it's supported by Intel graphics cards.
I believe ATI and nVidia use different key combinations.

I see. I have an nVidia card, so I suppose it's safe for me to let a cat walk on my keyboard then. :)
