Hey guys.
I need your help picking out a new monitor...
I don't really need one but this 17" is kinda small. :P
I thought about these...

Or.

Samsung SyncMaster 226BW Black 22" Widescreen TFT-LCD, 1680 x 1050, 3000:1, 2ms, Analog, DVI-D HDCP, HDTV Ready
Link: http://canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=012403&cid=MT.282
Price: $277.99

Which one would be the best out of the two?
I don't care much about style but i do like the silver on the second one. :)
If your going to recommend a different monitor please use Canada computers.. because i have one right across the street from me. :)

first one, my grandparents have 2 hdtvs, both are 1080p, but one is a 10000:1 and the other is a 1000:1, and the first looks way better, the first will probably just look sharper in general

On the other hand, HDCP would allow you to plug in for example a PS3, which may seem silly now, but when you're gonna be up all night for no reason, and you happen to have GH3 and 2 controllers, it makes for a lot of fun =D

Go for the 1st one, samsung 2253bw since it still use s type panel and newer technology, its a new product after all.
My self got a samsung 223bw since it much cheaper than other 22 incher.

Holy smokes.
Seems like the first one is the one to get..
Thanks! :)

Keep in mind that contrast ratio is not a very good way to tell the monitor's performance. Infact, there's no real standard to measure this. Each company have their own way to measure contras ratio. Static image or dynamic imagery can also have a big difference.

Interesting..
So I'm still guessing that the first one is better then the second. Correct?

Chances are, yes. They're made from the same company, so chances are they use the same test for both LCDs. But, is the slight difference worth the money?

I say the first one, only because I own it and it's a nice monitor. It's been good to me so far and I'm quite pleased with it.

Edit: I got the first one at the price of the second one at Costco. Don't buy it there. Newegg sells it for cheaper too.
