can you still get email acounts that are gmail.com rather than the new googlemail.com?
anyone know how?

I'm unsure what you are talking about... I just created a new account to double check, and it was '@gmail.com'. I just used the "Sign up for Gmail" link at gmail.com. I have yet to see an '@googlemail.com' address... where are you looking?

maybe because you're american n doing it in the states. like with hotmail you get @hotmail.co.uk in england.

Ah, quite possibly. If they are checking where you live and then assigning the suffix accordingly then I might suggest something that would make it look like you are browsing from the US, but discussion of such things is against forum rules.

you know, ever question ive ever asked on here someone has said that.
this forum has WAY to many rules!

Maybe you should examine the questions you are asking rather than the medium in which you are asking them through. This is a respectable and well kept message board, and to maintain it in this way certain rules must be applied in order to prevent certain discussion that may put the board in jeopardy. This discussion included that which would be deemed illegle in most countries, or that which would pertain to illegal activity in most applications.

And while I hold myself to no high legal standards, as I often violate certain copyright regulations on a daily basis, I can understand why discussion of such would be wanted to be kept out of a message board such as this.

No one is forcing you to stay here, there are plenty of other mediums through which to discuss the same subjects, many of which are much more lenient towards discussion rules. I suggest if you wish to discuss issues which are illegal then you find somewhere else to do so.

When you create a GMail account, both suffixes will work. Eg, I make an account called [email protected]. You would be able to send emails to [email protected] and they would go straight to your inbox. ;)

If you are still don't believe me, sign up through a proxy such as VTunnel.com. ;)
