Gmail messages gone!

Opening my email folder this morning, I was surprised to see most of my email messages gone. I was left with a few, but no common thread between them to indicate why they were excluded from the erasure.

Any thoughts or ideas on why messages would disappear. Maybe just somehow hidden?

I haven't heard of that happening on its own.

I probably touched down with my big clumsy hands when I shouldn't have, and sent them all flying.

Oh well. Reckon there wasn't anything that can't be re-done.
