Going To Buy A 22" LCD, what do you guys think about this one?

Not a gamer just looking for a nice 22" LCD

was thinking about getting this one from bestbuy and was wondering if anybody could help


I was about to buy another LG that cost $319 but the only difference between that one and this one is that $319 has 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 2 ms response time...the $219 has 8000:1 ratio and 5 ms time


also....would I need a better graphics card to take advantage or the monitor?
 
It depends what you would be doing on the computer. Screen resolution impacts the game performance, but so does the game itself. I would look around NewEgg.com too for monitors, they often have wayy better prices than Best Buy. It also depends on what video card you have right now haha.
 
For a little over $200 it looks like a great screen. kookooshortman55 is right...it really depends on what it will be used for. If you will be doing high end video or picture work I would go with a better one. If it's an everyday user for the interweb and gaming...the cheaper one will be fine. Get the best screen you can with your budget, that's what I would do.

I have been checking around and it seems it cheapest right now at bestbuy because its $100 off regular price and also its tax free weekend in my state :) Which is why I am trying to figure out if this is a good monitor or not. I basically just want to upgrade my monitor that I have now which is a 17"....Im not looking for a gaming monitor...I am just looking for a monitor that has a nice crystal clear picture and every now and then I will watch movies on it



So if I was to buy this monitor would you suggest me upgrading my graphics card??? Let me know! Thanks for any help!
 
Okay well considering that you are set on the monitor, I would either recommend an 8600GT or an 8800GT. The 8600GT's are about half the price of the 8800GT's, but the 8800GT's performs a lot better, about four times as fast. The 8600GT is priced around $80, the 8800GT around $130. Granted these are gaming-ish video cards, but if you ever watch a DVD or Blu-Ray disc in the future, these will have no problem playing them.
 
Is a graphics card pretty much just for gaming and playing movies? Or will it make my picture and internet pages look a lot more crstyal clear???


IntelMan, I was looking at that one and was going to purchase it today but then I was looking in the ads and saw this one listed in bestbuy for 219, so I got online and checked it out and the only difference seems to be response time
