My motherboard is done so I need to get a new one. The ones I have been looking at are both Gigabyte.

One is the Assassin and the other is the Guerilla on.

Anyone have any ideas on good mobos?

These are the stuff that have to fit on it:

2 x HD5970 GPUs
6 x DDR3 memories at 1333mhz
2 x 256gb SSD drives
1 x 128gb SSD drive

Love my i920. She's OC'd to 4ghz and running like a champ. In addition, my SLi'd GTX560 Ti's are also giving me the performance I want. I currently rune he original AS Rock X58 Extreme, but would like to upgrade because of my addition of a Corsair SSD. The Saber Tooth X58 is looking really good right now.

Dont ever buy ASUS motherboard..It offers very low performance..
The only issue with Asus is support. Their boards have no issue with performance at all. I myself would not hesitate to buy one if they made anything that I needed.

Go for Gigabyte,
Agreed. They are very good. Again, would go for them, but they don't have what I need.

Their boards are tricky. they have some very good ones and some very bad ones. And they have middle of the road ones that decide they will work sometimes and sometimes not. If you are looking for ease of overclock with turbo off, go for another company. I got my OC fixed, but knowing this board it will screw up next time I shut it off, so its staying on till I replace the board.

and EVGA..
Never used their boards, but their graphics are robust and perform well. I would suggest them more if they did not cost so much.

I appreciated ur post..But I have three ASUS motherboards: ASUS P5QL PRO, ASUS P5K SE, and ASUS P8Z77-V LX...All these motherboards have not satisfied me, especially performance...Even I overclocked it, still I can't feel any differences..My experience with Gigabyte and Asrock are very out standing..Their performance are great..So, I have bad experiences with all ASUS boards...

No offense intended, but one board, and 3 boards even do not set an entire company as poor. If you are not being satisfied by Asus boards, it may just be that you expect too much from them.

I did not expect much from ASUS..But everyone is keep telling that ASUS boards are outstanding..From my experiences, I felt all ASUS boards are not satisfying..Even recently, my ASUS P8Z77-V LX BIOS creates strange problem..Suddenly, the BIOS will reboot if enter the BIOS..It continues to reboot and reboot..At last I cleared the CMOS, then it worked fine..By the way that I bought that board just 2 days ago...It depends on your experience with all brands of boards..For me, I felt that ASUS boards are not performing well...

personally I feel let down by ASrock and everyone tells me they are good. Its all in your experience with them. But that reboot issue sounds to be either a setting error or a lack of power.

No I reset the setting value to default value..This happens even after I updated teh BIOS...This problem occured a few months ago in anther ASUS P5K SE board...I almost spend half of the day to resolve the problem in ASUS P8Z77-V LX...Then, I realised that cleared the CMOS will resolve the problem..Next thing, I want to tell this incident when I purchased Asrock P67 Pro 3. That motherboard is new and not functioning when first time I turn on...So, the technician checked and confirmed that board is malfunction...Then, I exchange with ASUS P8Z77-V LX..Lastly, I can concluded that nowadays boards are not quality and not reliable...

You can think that way if you want, but it seems like you have labeled Asus, and based on your last sentence, all companies based on a few bad boards. Goven all companies have one board that is pure garbage, but really Asus is not bad. ASrock is okay, but only just.

No I didn't mean all manufacturers and all boards are garbage...I just found that nowadays motherboards from various companies are not quality and reliable compared to those days boards..Error rate is still increasing among all manufacturers..So, they need to increase their quality standard for low-range and middle range boards..

Everyone gets bad hardware from every company from time to time, it happens.

But from my experience, ASUS makes the most reliable and highest performing motherboards. ASUS has always been praised for their abilities to overclock better than most boards.

Back in 2004, the P4P800 motherboard was the best motherboard on the market for socket 478 and was one of the few motherboards you could really push a P4 processor to its max. I personally couldnt get past 3.6GHz on stock air cooling with a 2.66GHz Northwood, but Northwoods were known to have a wall.

I have about 5 old ASUS motherboards laying around right now not including the one Im using and all of them work great.

I figured I'd chip in with the ASUS conversation. I have owned a number of their boards (P5, P7, P8) and they have all been great. Not had an issue with any of them. the p8z68 I have now is a great board.

ASUS and Gigabyte are my favourite brands. I have used a lot Gigabyte's boards too and they have all been great too. :)

I just found that nowadays low-range motherboards from various companies are not quality and reliable compared to those days boards..Error rate is still increasing among all manufacturers..Of course high class boards are good and perfect..But how about middle and low class boards..Those days boards are very quality and stable..

I find that to be teh opposite. My H61DE/S3 is the best board I have had and it is also one of the cheapest boards around. Less than $40 if I remember right. All companies have bad eggs. Has nothing to do with it being a top end or low class board. They all have bad ones.
