Good AGP card? Resolution Confusion.

I want to upgrade my computers graphics card, but I don't understand much about cards or resolution. Here are my specs:

HP Pavilion a510n:
A7V8X-LA (Kelut)
AMD Athlon (2.1ghz)
512mb DDR SDRAM (PC2700)
VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP (intergrated graphics)

HP vs17e (monitor):
Max resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz
Recommended resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz

My computers using intergrated graphics at the moment, VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP. I want a cheap AGP card ( $50 or below, preferably below) that's compatible with my computer and moniter, a card thats equal or better to Geforce4 MX440. Thanks very much in advance.

And also, I was wondering, would I have to disable the intergrated graphic card one when I'm installing the new card?
 
Step 1: turn on pc load windows
Step 2: start>right click my comp>properties>hardware>device manager>display adapters> click disable.
Step 3: shut down pc, and remove a/c wire
Step 4: Remove side panel, and insert New agp card.
Step 5: Replace side panel, and plug in a/c wire
Step6: Turn on the pc
Step 7: load the drivers disk....

Sounds simple enough, lol. So, I can buy whichever AGP card? The resolution doesn't matter?
 
No It doesn't. The resolution merely affects performance. For example if you had an 8600GT running Crysis at 1920x1200, it would be pretty damn choppy. Say you ran it at your monitor's resolution, it would run much smoother (depending on your video settings).
 
you should keep the computer plugged in when replacing cards, it keeps the case grounded. No biggie either way though IMO.

Ok, I think I understand. So, when I install the card will it be set to the moniters resolution? Or I'll have to do that myself?

? What's a "low profile' card?

*Final question... is GeForce FX 5200 good? The manufacturer is EVGA, and the card is really affordable; $30.
