good budget specs

what are good specs for sub 500$ dollar gaming machine i have ram,and hardrive
dont need optical drive

Also will you need Windows 7 as part of that price? Or any other peripherals like a monitor or keyboard.

i have keyboard and mouse. I have 250 gb 7200 rpm hitatchi drive and some sector 5 4 gb ram

really hitatchi isn't the best but it should do for now, and 4gb's should be fine too.

If it's on the hdd, you'll need to be able to reinstall it.

when it's installed it recognizes the hardware and configures for it, then drivers and stuff are installed for the current hardware and they will be conflicting causing errors and a hastle. also is the copy a upgrade disk or what, unless it's oem or retail it is useless basically.

Doesn't matter, you usually have to reinstall it when you put the hard drive in a new machine.
