Good Build? What to Upgrade?

Hello. This will be my first post. So I have been researching for months on what to build in my PC before I actually get it. I am currently using a laptop and that does not suffice for any of my gaming needs. I need to know if this is a good build. If not, what do I need to do or add to make it better?

Also, I wanna play Games Like BF3, DayZ And Planetside 2 (Maybe) on this. Is this good for that?

you may be able to get the same type of RAM for $45.

you are buying one of the most expensive 7850's, you can get one for $170. If you want to spend around $220 on a GPU, get the Geforce 660. Currently, the only people who need more than 1GB of video memory are those who use a resolution higher than 1920x1200 with anti-aliasing turned on. Overall, the 7850 will get the job done.

use some of that money you saved and get a FX-6300 CPU instead. Multiplayer games can get quite intense on the CPU, you may want something better than the phenom 965.

CPU - I suggest you get FX4300 instead.
RAM - $55 seems expensive when DDR3 2133 at $55
Video card - too expensive. You can just go for cheap GIGABYTE GV-R785OC-2GD to save money.
SSD - could get 120GB samsung 840 to save $10
HDD - why you get SATA II drive? Get a WD Blue 500GB WD5000AAKX for $60

The Crucial m4 is a decent SSD but it's slower than quite a few you can buy now. I'd suggest looking into an OCZ Vertex 4 or a Kingston drive instead.

I've got a Crucial m4 at the moment. I should be receiving an OCZ Vertex 4 in the mail today to replace it. I'll let you know what the performance difference is like if you're interested?

agreed on most, but for different reasons.

CPU- the 965 is relitively old and useless when there is the 4300 for a little more. though at this point the 6300 is the ticket as it is only about $10-20 (iirc) more than the 4300.

RAM- If they are back in stock, you can get Samsung Magic RAM for $39 (iirc), and it will net lower timings with lower voltage. It is possible to hit 2133 @ 9-10-10-24 under 1.5V with it. Or like posted above you can grab the "fancy" stuff for $55 and still have the same thing.

GPU- Don't touch the double dissipation XFX cards. They are some of the loudest GPUs on the market. Gigabyte has some nice ones, as does MSI. IF you want reference design instead, any card will be fine. I love my Powercolor brand one for that.

SSD- The 840 is relatively slow. The 840 pro is faster, but you don't need an SSD. For the average system they are not much of an upgrade at all. I personally don't see the difference at all once startup has finished. Games will not be faster as they are on the HDD anyway.

HDD- Junk advice. You can get a 1TB Seagate for $79. SATA interface does not matter a bit, as an HDD will not fill up SATA 2.

there is really no reason to get the FX-4300. The phenom 965 has practically the same performance as the 4300 for like $25 less and the FX-6300 is much better than the 4300 for $10 more.

^ This. And already mention on 7850. If it's going to run 2 monitors at some point, 2GB model - but see what the budget looks like after:

And just drop the ssd for now a revisit it after all the rest of the hardware.

970A UD3 is better and the one on a budget I would get.

Better than CX is XFX Core Edition PRO550W with it's Seasonic quality, better warranty, enough amps, and 15 less.
Or move up to Seasonic M12II 620w if you want more cushion.

F3 is good. Kinda small. Nearest price competitor is 1TB Seagate for about $80.
Or the Blue ^up there^ but I personally might only get that one if I were soon getting an ssd.
HDD - up to you.

Decide on gpu.
See if an SSD fits the bill.
Aftermarket cooler but dont sacrifice somethig else to get one now. It's a pretty easy install later.
