good card for less?

i need a video card for a machine that i edit photos and video on all the time...i just figured out that this comp ive been using has a good reason for freezing up all the time...all it has is an onboard video card...so i am looking for one for around $100-$140 that will work fairly well thx

What slot do you have? AGP or PCI-express, or only PCI?

i havent checked but i know i have PCI express im not sure about AGP

well you will want pci-express if its there, AGP is an older standard so will give a worse performance anyway

Well, currently for about 150 ish you should be able to pick up a 7900GS.

And the 7900GS is a good enough card at the moment. It should be a good stop-gap before a DX 10 card. I have a 7900GT at the moment and its a nice stop-gap before I get a 8900 later this year.
