good combo ?

I would recommend the Abit AV8 instead of the Asus. My builds show Abit is faster with default settings, but lots of folks swear by Asus.

is there an astronomical difference b/t agp 8x and pci-x 16x? Im really thinking about going to pci-x but I dont know if its worth it, in the end Im still gonna have to get rid off the current things in my sig anyway but if I keep AGP I can save my card until I have the money of a 6800gt.

Well PCI-X 16 is the future of video. They are starting to stop making AGP cards and are slowly switching all to PCI-X 16. So if you want to upgrade the whole thing in the future then go with PCI-X 16.

I wouldnt reccomend either for K8/K9s from either an absolute performance or performance/cost perspective

Absolutely crap all difference as of now since damn near nothing ever really saturates the AGP bus

As long as u realize just because u got it to work doesnt mean everyone can

I think ill go with pci-x, agp is slowly being phased out and the difference in price b/t an agp card and a pci-x card isn't that much.

Would my hs/f from my current setup for the amd xp work with the amd 64 or would I need to get a new hs/f.
