Good computer with lots of ram?

When I bought my computer it had 512MB of RAM. Now it has 446. Can anyone tell me where the memory went? Is there a way to regain it? As you can tell, I don't know a lot about it.

Also, I need the 512 to download my antivirus. It comes free with my ATT membership. But if you know of any good, FREE antiviruses, please let me know.

Most likely it's because your computer has integrated video, which means it utilizes a portion of your system memory as video memory.

If you only have 512MB of RAM, you should really upgrade that. What operating system are you using? Windows XP?
