I just ordered these things, is that good enough for a gaming computer to run oblivion on max? and fear?
-1 gb of ram
-3.2 ghz intel
-7800 gt
-250 gb maxtor

Adding anything more onto your already 1GB will hardly do anything and you probably won't even notice a difference.

That PC will play those games great but should've got an AMD.

If he got an LGA775 P4, then he always has the conroe route! :D
that is true! and if he got an AMD he couldn't have upgraded to AM2...
unless he got this board... then he could be on AM2 route... notice the "other slots" category

There is a significant performance increase when moving from 1GB to 2GB, especially in the new games. It will also help if you have programs running in the background when your playing games.

What type of Intel is that?

whats conroe
It's Intel's future processor.

Not sure about Fear, but that system will not run Oblivion on max settings, unless you want a near slideshow. Seems hard to believe, I know, but you will indeed be pushing max...it will be close enough. It also depends what resolution you would play on...ie 800x600 would be maxed.
