I was interested in the laptop Asus G51VX-RX05

Its suppose to be a great affordable ($960) gaming laptop with great graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB GDDR3), but the processor looks a really weak (Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 2.0GHz).

THis processor isn't up to par with a lot system requirements I've seen for new cpu games. For example, Age of Conan which requires, at least, Intel Pentium 4 3Ghz or equivalent, and recommends Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz or equivalent. And this game came out 1 year ago.

I want to avoid spending $2000, but does anyone know of a better gaming laptop I could get for under $1700-1800??

get the g71 instead. I love it, and hate laptops with less than 17" screens. Well, i think it was replaced by the g72, which i assume is pretty much identical to the g71 cual core version.

Note that they come with software for overclocking it 15% (the one you linked too). And I play crysis at native res on all very high settings so I dont think you have to worry about playing any games. ;)

I know a 17" inch monitor wud be nice. But I can always attach my LCD when im at home. This g72 is 4 dollars more and is the same as the g51...

^ Which one? Best Buy model? The G72 has a 2.53Ghz and the G51 just has the 2Ghz. So the g72 has about a 3Ghz when you're gaming and the G51 has 2.4

Looks great! Only $70 more. I go from a 15.6" monitor to a 17.3", twice the hard drive, more memory, and head phones. There has to be something Im missing, because newegg.com is suppose to be better for purchasing cpu's than bestbuy. Does everyone agree the best buy one is better deal than one below..?

Ahh I found something, the best buy laptop (g72) has a lower hard drive speed (only 5400rpm), compared to the 7200rpm that newegg g51vx has. But maybe this doesnt make that much a difference.
