Good modular PSU?

I would like to upgrade to a modular PSU.

What would people recommend?

Wanted to consult people that know more about it than I do before I make the purchase.

I am looking at the Corsair TX750w, the Antec Quattro 850, possibly a Cooler Master or Thermal Take equivalent. The SeaSonic range is also available to me. OCZ unfortunately is not.

I believe 750W is enough to power my setup (figured as much because my current 600W is doing fine) - one thing I like about the Antec though, is that it's fan is at the back, so it can be mounted more effectively in an Antec 900 case. The Corsair would require some serious case mods to be set up ideally.

Finally, if I did decide on the Antec, would it be worth getting the 1000W if it was only AU$40 extra? Not sure if that is a necessary future-proofing move... would I ever need that much power?

Thanks.

HX520W. Corsair. Great PSU thats modular.

If that's not enough, the 750 should do great. Anything by corsair is pretty good I believe.

Corsair's TX750 isn't modular - only the HX series is modular. Even the HX520 would provide sufficient power for a system like yours, although obviously a bigger unit will provide more upgrade headroom.

Antec's Quattro 850W is semi-modular, (still some fixed cables), if that's an issue. It's a good quality unit, although not as good as Corsair's offerings.

Where are you buying from? What are your options and their prices?

I am in Australia, and based on where I live I get the widest range and best prices from www.umart.com.au.
With the Antec, which cables are fixed? Just the ones that plug into the MB? Because I think that would be okay... I'm just fairly keen on the back fan instead of a bottom fan... I may be wrong, but will that not be a fairly significant aid when installing in an Antec 900?

Thanks
