Good USB TV Tuner

I basically, want to hook up my cable from my dorm to my computer to watch TV on my computer which has a 19 inch screen... because I don't want to bring a TV there.

Any suggestions?

What is QAM? Is that what I need to pick up my cable from my dorm?

Anyway, I bought these two things. Hoping one worked with what I want... so I'll just return the other.

But, if any of you have had experience with a USB TV Tuner that you like let me know.

I couldn't find any USB tv tuner with great feedback so I settled for these hoping that they would work great. (40 percent of people rated it 5 stars) I'm hoping I could one of those 40 percent.

The reviews on youtube looked promising for the more expensive one, but the reviews on newegg were iffy. Hope they work. Like I said if you have any experience what so ever or any tips please tell me. Thanks

Well I use WinTV. It only uses one USB port, and is quite unobtrusive. If you're not running cable to it, it comes with an antenna and will pick up any local HDTV channels that are running.

ive got the pinnacle hd usb. On a whim it works. It will pick up pretty good local channels with antenna if you can get a good signal. A card works better though but got it as a toy only. like your prices though. if i was going to get a usb i would go with Pinnnacle.
