Hey guys, right now I only have onboard video, and I really would like a video card for low performance gaming, this looks ideal for me, but i dont know alot about video cards 128mbs but im wondering if it performs well. keep in mind that im not looking for a 6800 or anything close to that, just looking for a buget card, that the most i will play on it will proabably be warcraft III lmao.

here is the link

thanks, Dan

warcraft 3 is probably ok (drop the settings a bit) but anything more demanding is gonna cause some choking

well my on board works great with war3 so im thinking ill stick with that for now, and save up and get one that will work well. is there a website that you can compare the performance of video cards or something like that? how do you know if one is good i guesse im asking.

as much as I hate 3DMark, (it doesn't just test the video as is implied by calling it '3DMark') using it as a sort of base of comparison - TigerDirect's test system (or where ever they got the scores they show) got ~800 in 3DMark03, a system (unfortunately this system is probably different so there are more factors) with an 865G got ~2300, and a voodoo 2 got ~1000.

i think ive decided to get this one, its pretty good for the kind of gaming I want, not a bad price plus bonus a remote for my lazy self, haha not to worried about the capture part of it, its running with a FX 5700, so at least it can render 3d graphics ;) haha. what do you guys think? is it worth $140 CAD
3dMark 2001 value 11671 or something like that

The geforce 5700 a ok card. Personally I think the radeon 9600XT is a better card then that.

Connect 3D Radeon 9600 XT $108 CAD

It also a little cheaper so that will save you some money.

If the extra feature important to you like RF antenna, FM antenna, audio imput and a remote control then go with geforce 5700 personal cinema.

If performance is your main concern then I would proberly go with the radeon 9600XT.

i had already paid for it but i think i can cancle my order haha, the 9600XT looks alot better and it is cheeper, im not really interested in the capture part of the card THAT much hahah
