Google alternative

Since Google has revamped its privacy policy starting 3/1/2012 , is there an alternative search engine that doesn't collect information on me?

I don't have gmail, I use Bing and it uses Google.

But I got emails on two different email accounts telling me Google was changing the policy.

Bing is it's own search engine, but there's also Yahoo and hundreds of well less known ones.

I had a two Gmail accounts. One of them I am in the process of deleting. It will be gone before March 1st. The other is a junk e-mail account so I do not care about it.

I am going to be using Yahoo searches a lot more. Google searches will not be off limits to me, but I did not like the change in the privacy policy by Google.

I remember the days before Google existed. There were tons of different search engines that people used:

Yahoo!
Lycos
Altavista
Ask Jeeves
Excite
Dogpile
Infoseek
Webcrawler

The funny thing was, people used the different search engines for different results too. EG, I used AltaVista because of their Image index searches. Ask Jeeves was used to ask a question. Yahoo was used as my main search engine. Etc.

I'm not worried about Google.
As long as you are not logged in to a Google account it doesn't know who you are.
If your paranoid just log out and delete your Google cookies.
My Gmail isn't in my real name anyway, I don't have any e-mail accounts that are in my real name.
