Google Chrome / Ram issue

I just came across this issue with Google Chrome. I had about 4 tabs open and noticed my browser start to stutter and while loading pages. (Chrome was open for 3-4 hours) After realizing it was taking over half of my usable memory I closed Chrome, but when I tried to re-open it, nothing would happen and I was forced to reset my PC to use it again.

I was just curious as to what would cause my memory to sky rocket like this. I have Chrome open right now, after reset, and I'm only using 22% of my memory.

Only addon I have is Adblocker. I believe I had facebook, newegg, wikipedia and hotmail opened.

I did a little test and opened 10 chrome tabs, three had videos playing on them, and only used 30% memory.

Depends on what sites you're visiting as well as duration of being open (think cached objects in RAM).

If you have some leaky extensions then that may be more of the culprit.

Ran into the same issue, but my memory was fine (23% usage)... The same thing happened, but this time I only had one youtube tab open for about 2 hours, and I watched one video, clicked the back button, and just freezes when finished loading the page. It doesn't allow me to click, scroll, and my cursor stays the same moving over pictures/links. I'm able to minimize, expand, and close, but unable to re-open Chrome until I reset my computer. (I see a new background process every time I click Chrome when I'm unable to open)

Ill try removing all the extensions and see if it fixes it. I've never had this issue before, and CCleaner cleans every time I close my browser.

Edit: Removing Adblock fixed my issue.
