Google is gona take over the world and destroy us all...

yeah its possible for a Google OS but like the article said "there is no indication that anything like this is in the works" and even if it did the competition that they will have to compete with will make it hard to excel. even though windows os is far from perfect a majority of users are not willing to change due to the familiarity of windows. Its highly unlikely that anything like this will happen by 2010

hey its better than microsoft taking over right?:D
certainly is, and i hope there will be a google OS, if it follows the same trend as othe google products, simple to use, nice interface, very good etc. then it should take off, especially with younger people startgin to learn how to use a computer, older people who don't want the bother of windows and people like my dad who just won't listen, it could be a hit, and if it did appear i would certainly install it my dad's and brothers computers

Lee :D

i was serious......anyway on a more serious note i rekon that some other big company will come along that does not get bought out by google and they will at least become a fair rival

I know the company that's going to rival google. AdProfits4U

You know google started out as an advertising company just like adprofits is right now. They were selling slots in advertisement and they turned into the biggest multi-billion dollar search engine power on the net in a matter of a few years.

I suggest you guys check out adprofits4u, it's a new company that will create an opportunity for you to make money and get a piece of the action before they go forward like google did.
link is in sig

They're talking about a Google-tweaked version of Ubuntu.

Google has a lot of people and a lot of money... The perfect combination for a Linux distro to take on Microsoft. Personally, Ubuntu isn't what I'd choose, but hey... It's open, so it can be improved, and it's improving in the right direction.

Besides, even if it doesn't take over the world, it'll kick M$ and Apple in the pants hard enough to get THEIR product improving. Think IE when Firefox started climbing and Windows when MacOS started climbing.
