My steam downloads run at about 2.6MB/s. So maybe Im not really missing out on anything.

That shouldnt be too expensive. What does ethernet cable run these days? $100 for 50 feet?

Seriously, that's faster than my present Verizon 3Mb/768kb DSL, and at that price, that's a "buy one year, get at least six years free" deal!
