Got an email response from HP about my LCD monitor - should I trust it?

I asked HP technical support whether the new monitor I bought - the HP w19b LCD display - is HDCP compliant, even though none of the product documentation says it is.

This is their reply:

I apologize for the delay in answering your message. Due to the
increased volume of messages we receive daily, our response time has
increased.

In reviewing your message, I understand that you wish to know whether
the HP W19b Widescreen LCD monitor is an HDCP(High Definition Content
Protocol) cerified.

I am glad that you have forwarded your concerns and have given me a
chance to assist you with this matter.

I would like to inform you that all the latest HP LCD monitors
are HDCP compliant monitors. This information is not mentioned in any
documentation, as it is an internal data. I apologize for any
inconvenience this might have caused.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this message and we
will be happy to assist you further.

Well if it came from HP, then you should trust it. I don't know what country you are in, but if its me I would keep that email and should your monitor not be hdcp, you can claim a refund, at least in Australia on the grounds that it didn't serve the purpose you intended to buy it for. If you specifically asked for a HDCP compliant monitor you should get one, if not you will be refunded, in Australia at least.
