Have you seen these GPS programs for service vehicles so, you can open a program and see there locations? I need to know some system requirements for this, can anyone drop me a link?
It really depends on the program. My dad has this one golf program that actually had a great road map and GPS interface. He purchased some old P233 laptop to run it, and it works quite well...
I suspect if you get something like Streets and Trips 2007(or whatever the latest version is) the map will have pretty heavy detail and the menus will be full of eye-candy...
Over-all, a GPS requires very little system specs. I mean, most run off a serial port! But when you start cramming all this crap into programs, it gets rough.
Just recently I found google maps for my PDA. I don't have a GPS for my PDA, but it will apparently link with one. If you had a PDA will wireless(cellular) internet you could follow the satellite images of the road
