The 580 will destroy any game you throw at it, and will probably last you a long time. Just your decision if you want to wait for the new ones to come out. You can always buy a motherboard with a PCI-e 3.0 in case you want to upgrade ever.

which 3.0 will still work in a 2.0 slot so that isn't needed, wanted to clarify that, and unless running multi-monitors then the 580 should last you like 2 years maxing or at least being right at it on every game. and the next gen cards are set for i think the first half of next year, not sure thow.
