well i have noticed a few times my pc is starting to act a little strange, ill give a brief description...

surfing the net i hear my secondary hard drive fire up and my screen flickers, then the tasckbar changes colour as if its going back to basics.

i took a screen shot of msi afterburner and noticed that my gpu activity was eratic

i was surfing ebay then i closed the window down which made no difference
is there any reason why my gpu should act this way?

as soon as the gpu activity dropped the taskbar changed back to normal

Its jumping into 3d mode and then back into 2d mode, possibly an advertisement based upon adobe flash that uses gpu acceleration?

why is affecting my taskbar? its like its dropping into basic mode!

can you tell me what advertisement would use a highley overclocked 5850 to 80%+ ??
i think there is something underlying here

but i do hope its just an advertisement

Oh, i mistook the fan speed and GPU usage graphs. That is quite strange that something is bringing GPU utilization up to nearly 100%. Check task manager for any running applications perhaps? Or post a hijackthis log.

yeh next time i will, the gpu is under water aswell so the fan speed is redundant....

for the gpu core to go up to 100% something has to be up with it, doesnt do it all the time.....

maybe once a week
