GPU Swap questions - Please Help

Now, before I start, this is simply a temporary fix to a temporary problem. I am currently saving money for a new processor and GPU (GTX 770). So, the below listed is simply a temporary fix until I can get more money.

So, here it is.

I currently have a Mobo that has integrated graphics which are as follows:

Mobo - A55M-E33
Integrated Radeon HD 7480D

Now, I have an older GPU that I havent used in a couple of years. Its a dedicated GPU. It is the GeForce 9400gt, 1gb. So, my question is, if I were to put this 9400 GPU on my current Mobo, would it be better than the integrated graphics that it already houses?

If yes....I have follow up questions:

1- Does my mobo support the GeForce 9400gt?
2- when installed, how do i deactivate my integrated graphics so I can utilize the new GPU, or how does that work? I have windows 8.

Thank you all for your help. I thought I would ask your opinion before I swapped them out.

With that CPU you should be saving up for an AMD gpu with mantle.
Do you have a sufficient PSU?

No, I dont right now. i think its 400. But im buying a new one. so, no worries there.

Lets talk Mantle GPU. First, will it compare to / be better than the GTX770? Will it be compatible with my Mobo?

Actually, scratch that last post.
Ok, So if it would be better to go with a Mantle card, Ill get the R9 270x. Would that work with my Mobo and my processor. I have a dual core 3.4Ghz processor. I know id have to upgrade the PSU but thats not an issue. If I get the R9 270x is everything else compatible, or would I have to replace the mobo and processor?

As long as you have a PCIe x16 Gen2/Gen3 the card will be compatible. And your motherboard do have one of those. 99.999% sure. I would be gobsmacked if it didn't :)
As for the 9400GT, don't bother :) I had two of those once, and they're not powerful.

I dont mean to sound like a complete noob, but I kind of am. What do you mean by PCIe x16 Gen2/3? is that a mobo thing. Also, Im not sure that my Mobo will support it. I posted my mobo model at the top there in hopes that someone could tell me if it could or couldnt.

Disregard that PCIe Question, I found it. I looked up my mobo and it says "1x PCI-Express 2.0 x16 Slot; 1x PCI-Express x1 Slot; 1x PCI Slot" so im assuming -yes- it will fit, the question now is, will it actually work?

Assuming you have enough power in your PSU, it will work. It's very 'standardized'.

Sorry for the large image, but the PCIe slot is the long blue plastic-hole under the FM2-A55M-E33 text. This is your exact motherboard btw.

The beauty of mantle is that it actually works most effectively for lower end CPUs. This will help you.

I would get a 760/270X and 760K over a 770. You will get better performance on CPU bound games, and similar performance on equally balenced games.

Mantle is cool, but its only in very few games. In Mantle games, it is likely you will get decwnt performance out of a A4 (but not great by any means), but as I said, its in very few games. Only 1 ATM, with only a few that are planned to have it.

By a few he means around 20. So if most of what you use are games that do support it, id go with a AMD card.

However if you don't want to upgrade your PSU, and only play at 1080p, you may want to look at the 750Ti for $150 bucks.

Honestly, i dont think any of the games I play support MANTLE. So, That being said, should I avoid the R9 270x all together and get maybe a 750ti or a 760? would it compare as far as a noticeable graphics boost and FPS? and yes, All i do is play games. But, i dont wanna buy a card that will be obsolete in 1 year. So, thats why I was lookign at the R9 270x

Now that I have done a bit more research, I think Im going to go with the GTX 760. It is WAY better than what I currently have, a significant upgrade and I think it would run a lot smoother. And, its a bit better that the 750ti. What do yall think?

Ok, Here is what Im looking at and I would like to know if it is all compatible. I have made my mind up, I am buying these items if they will work together. So, if someone could help me out with that question that would be great.

My MOBO is a FM2-A55M-E33 MSI

I am upgrading GPU, CPU and PSU.
Are the three items compatible with one another?
