hi!

I see all coloured lines on my monitor. I almost can't see whats on my monitor. I was playing a game when this happend. He suddenly went back to windows and then he reboot  . And the lines are still on the monitor!
Have anyone an idea what may cause this? And where can I find information about my graf card (radeon 9800), where I can see if he isn't broke?

thanks,
Monika

First off, welcome to the forums. Secondly we need a little more info on your computer (mobo, cpu, etc...). With what you've given though it sounds like it might be the GFx card, lines and discoloration are usually its fault. Echo's and brightness and what not are usually the monitor's fault. It could also be the AGP/PCI port (see what I mean about more info) could be going bad, but in that case the computer probably wouldn't even boot up.

I have Intel Pentium 4 processor, L1 cache 8kb, L2 cache 5120KB pipelined-burst,eight-way set associative,write-back SRAM, Video type AGP 8X, memory type DDR 333 or 400 (non-ECC). I hope that you mean this info I give you.
My pc is on my desk and behind the desk is the heating, could the heat cause problems?? When I moved the cables more away from the heating he bacame normal for a few seconds, but the lines came back  .
I found info about my radeon by hardware and it sais he's working correct :) .

The only problem are these lines and weird colours, for the rest the computer is working as usually (fast and without other problems).

Not the info I meant. General info usually means
Mobo make and brand, CPU make and brand, memory make and brand, etc....

It might not be anything to do with the computer, the monitor could be on its way out. It's hard to say if it's video card or monitor
