So my grandmother's laptop died, and she needs a new one. Even though she would be better off with a desktop, she wants a laptop. She needs one that will handle a bunch of crap that she and her grandkids are gonna load on there and forget. It needs a good size screen. I'll get a price range from her soon. It definately won't be for gaming, but there will probably some media and mostly internet browsing. This needs to stand the test of time, and it'll be plugged in most of the time. Any Ideas?

Leaving it plugged in all the time is not a good idea.

1. Will kill the battery life.
2. Might cause electrical issues inside the laptop.

I've seen way too many bad things come from laptops being plugged in all the time. Only plug it in long enought to fully charge the battery and then unplug it, let the battery go almost dead and plug it back in.
 
Thats fine, but like i said she will be better off to not leave it plugged in all the time.
 
If she leaving it plugged in, ask her take out the battery.

For her use, probably screen size not less than 15"...
