So they are basic web surfers and my grandmother loves to play PC games such as solitaire/bejeweled etc. Nothing you would need a GTX 580 for :P They wouldn't give me a price but I would imagine under $500 is the goal here. The current system I can't use anything on as it is all really old. The HDD is also 2mb so it would cripple performance.

So first draft. If you know of a better route I am all ears open.

Will run Windows 7 x64 and I don't know how good the I3 GPU is.

Total = $462.15 before rebates leaving plenty of birthing room for cases. With rebates it should come out to roughly $500.
For the case I plan to let my grandparents choose from a selection I pre-choose. This way they get what they want and I get a case I can actually do something with and have the space needed.

I of course will be keeping a eye out for combo deals and what have you for extra discounts along the way. Currently though I have not seen any worth while.

JESUS! Just buy em a cheap OEM computer! Seriously, you are going way overboard here for bejeweled! You dont even need a card for that, on-boards work fine!
 
Lets see $500 for a piece of junk riddled with spyware/adware or $500 for a quality built system. Tough call but I think I will stick with building. The idea is future proofing...plus with a better system I can introduce better games. Also if later down I need to I can overclock freely without the fear of problems popping up.
 
If I were to change anything you have listed, it would be to include a blu-ray drive.

And though this may sound crazy, I'd DEFINITELY include a 3.5 floppy drive. You would be surprised how many things still require one of these. When I was helping my grandmother put together a computer I told her we needed to include it. Everyone else said it was stupid to add it, but they were all wrong. A lot of things like sewing machines can only use 3.5 floppies. Also if I have to run a HUTIL hdd diagnostic disk for her samsung hdd, I can via 3.5 disk!

Thanks for input guys @ Benny Boy I will look into that and see which I like more. I thought about AMD just because I don't really like the i3 but will see how it sells with them. I always offer 2-3 choices just so they can't come back at me later for not doing something.
