Graphic card doubt

Hi everybody!How are you?

I bought this Acer laptop which has been amazing so far.Really worth the price.
However, there are some aspects of the computer i don't quite understand. Here's one of them.In my description book which came with the computer it says that my graphic card has exactly 1 GB of memory. What so ever dxdiag says that the card has 2,8 GB of memory. So,could you please tell me what is to be believed?Do i have 1 GB or 2,8 GB?Why dxdiag got it wrong if it is so and are those different type of memory? What is going on???

Tell me if anything is needed.

Thanks in advance.

*Note:I bought it from official shop, with official licence,I made no modification related to the hardware or the software,no messed up settings nor anything else from this nature.I just got it one week ago and it's still like it was the, excluding of course two games and some music files.

***Here's what dxdiag says: http://img704.imageshack.us/i/sinttulo2ki.gif/

Could it be false computer?Something like that?

EDIT:Well,I figured it out. With some help of course. It's just the sum of dedicated video card memory and the one it shares with the RAM of the computer. Simple actually.Hope it helps people with related questions.

I've always wondered that myself, I think it means the maximum amount of system memory that it can dedicate to graphics. the card has 1gb itself, so windows probably allocates up to 1.6gb of extra memory to graphics if you run out.
