Graphic card problem....

is it worth upgrading from ATI 9800 pro 128MB (or 256MB) to ATI X-800 Pro 256MB? is there any noticable difference at all? my main priority is gaming so i want to know whats best for the powerful games at the market right now i.e. battle for middle earth. so i would like you to tell me in your personal experience and theoretical expertises the best graphic card thats under £300.

i also have heard positive comments about NVIDIA altough i never personally experienced its capability in gaming aspect. but i am hoping you people can tell me how good is NVIDIA compare to ATI. whats the best NVIDIA graphix card under £300?

I don't know what battle for middle earth's engine is based on (OGL or D3D)

Electronic Arts ... screams DX9 ... they dont have programmers than can do OGL :P

so I can't say if an Nvidia card would be better than an ATI card or vise versa

Realistically for 90% people the extra benifit offered in either DX/OGL with respect to RV/NV isnt noticeable ... its much more bragging rights than anything. For the price though the 6800GT (which is superior to the X800Pro) is a better deal... its got an additional quad of pipes and higher clock ... for the same price or even cheaper
