so i had a computer that was a few years old that broke. then i was givin a comp which was very much older than the one i previously owned. i want to take thye graphics card out of the one that broke and put it in the one i use now which is the old one. also the one that broke was running windows xp and the one i want to put the graphics card in is running ubuntu. is this possible. if any one knows a good website where it could tell me how to do this that would help too. also the old comp is a compaq and the one that broke is a hp model a1000

if their mobo have the same socket i.e PCIe, or AGP, or PCI then you can switch from one to another, opening the case is on your own... but after you open it, theres a how to build a pc tutorial on here search it, and it'll explain how to install a graphic card... or youtube... (DUH)
