I'm putting together a computer with average resources (Core2 duo 4 gigs ram and ssd)I have 2 graphic cards an AMD Radeon 5450 an an Nvidia, (a newer but low end card), was wondering which Linux version and/or which card will work best, I don't know a lot a lot Linux except what I see with VMs. I have a Mint and a Xubuntu, and thinking about Zorin OS. I don't do any gaming but watch HD video and some video and graphic editing.

If you are not gaming, I would stick with Nvidia. AMD drivers have been getting better over the last few years but I still feel Nvidia is way easier to get working properly.

Whatever distribution you use, you will probably need to enable either the open source drivers or the AMD/Nvidia propritery drivers in additional drivers. Here is how to do it in Ubuntu, Xubuntu should not be too far off

Yea. I had a Radeon X1950 pro that I couldnt get to work with linux at all. It was sad because I had to use my 6800 and the X1950 pro was a way better card.
